Just in time for the party

I’m baack! I have nothing to say about my absence except that I was having a splendid Christmas with the people I love:

and that I’ve felt an awful lot like this up until yesterday when school resumed:

In all honesty this picture is an accurate representation of my life over winter break (minus the afro and, you know, nudity).

Actually, I’ve been the opposite of nude, considering I refuse to take this off:

And I’ve been pretty much prancing around in my new coat pretending to be Sherlock… anyone watch the new season yet??

Totally normal, right?

But now that break is dead and done I’ve gotten my stuff organized for class, started prepping for job interviews, cleaned my apartment and started to be a full functioning adult again. Just in time for the party:

I don’t have a whole lot to share this week, because my food has been pretty boring lately, but here’s some highlights from over break.

Heather’s Peanut Butter Mug Cake

Topped with more peanut butter and some sprinkles for good measure.

Kylie’s Greek Yogurt “Mousse”

Topped with some crack I mean cookie butter from Trader Joe’s.

Amazing cannolis on Christmas (hey-we’re Italian, what did you expect?)

And lookie here, I even have a recipe for you like a good little blogger ;).

Ok, it’s totally a holiday drink recipe, but maybe you’ll crave it even though the holidays are over.

Salted Caramel Cocktail

-2 oz salted caramel vodka

(I used Pinnacle which I so graciously got from my boyfriend’s mom)

-1 oz Bailey’s

-Milk of choice (I used vanilla almond milk)

1) Line your glass with some frosting or water and coat it in brown sugar (optional, but so cute and tasty).

2) Put everything in a cocktail shaker (pour in the alcohol over the ice and fill the rest with milk)

2) Shake and pour. Done and done. Top with whipped cream if you’re feelin’ fancy.

  1. Yay!! I’m glad you’re back girl! Missed you a ton but glad that you were living life and enjoying time with your fam :) and i will be dreaming about that cocktail for the rest of the afternoon…three days straight inside with the boys? We’re all a little loopy at this point ;)

    WAIT!! I thought the new season didn’t come out on PBS for a few more days?!! 8O Is it already out? Could I have been spending my winter break re-watching the new episode over and over and over?

    You came bearing delicious recipes as always. That mousse from Kylie sounds wonderful. And mug cakes are always so darn addicting.

    1. Thanks lovely! & Hahaha no… it’s not out on pbs, but I know plenty of people have watched it regardless, since it aired on BBC already. There’s nothing to stop some of the more.. enthusiastic fans ;)

  4. I have no idea what cannolis but they look TATSY!
    And can you believe I’ve never seen Sherlock? I’m British and I haven’t watched one episode!! I do hear so many good things about it so I probably will jump on the old bandwagon soon. Before my dad spoils it for me as he goes on about it all the time!

  5. Ahhhh, welcome back from your break m’dear! Looks and sounds like you had one amazing holiday! It’s good to get away and enjoy life when you can…good for you for owning up to that and not apologizing for it! *fist bump* ;)

    I love the addition of the sprinkles in the mug cake…pure genius! And of course, I’m kicking myself for not having thought of it with all my different flavor variations that took place last month! Haha! But who cares…because honestly, all I can think of at this very minute is getting to the liquor store for some of that salted caramel vodka!! Yum!

  6. Haven’t seen the new season yet, but I’m loving your coat :) And the fact that you added sprinkles to your mug cake which is pure and simple genius (mostly because I have a sprinkle problem…)
